Signs Of Infertility

Signs Of Infertility You Should Know About
Infertility is defined as the incapacity to produce offspring. Of course there are many stipulations to the term infertility and this must not be confused with sterility. There are some signs of infertility that you can watch out for if you suspect you are infertile. These signs alone do not specifically suggest that you are infertile if you have them; instead you should be guided to consult an experienced medical practitioner if you suspect you have some signs of infertility.
What To Look For In Women
Among the many varied possible signs of infertility, the most common for women is an irregular menstrual cycle. Having an irregular menstrual cycle may be one of the signs of infertility but it could also point to a lot of things and does not necessarily mean that you are infertile.
Other signs of infertility can be a weight problem. Some women who are too thin and bordering on emaciation can have a problem conceiving because they lack the proper nutrients. Others on the other hand have no problem conceiving in spite of their thinness. Obesity can also be one of the signs of infertility. People who are obese sometimes suffer from hormonal problems, which in turn can affect their reproductive system.
Substance and alcohol abuse can also be signs of infertility. Better to call these causes of infertility instead of signs of infertility because they can make a person unable to conceive. People who frequently use illegal drugs and other substances that can harm the body are likely candidates of being unable to produce children. These substances and alcohol abuse can affect the way your body works and may discourage the proper growth and conception of fetuses.
What To Look For In Men
Some of the signs of infertility in men and women are similar. These include weight problems like obesity and substance abuse. These signs of infertility affect men in the same way that they affect women. They cause the body to malfunction in such a way that it cannot host a fetus or produce the right amount or form of sperm to conceive. Anatomic or physical problems may also be signs of infertility in men. Undescended testicles can prove to be a factor to infertility. Wearing tight underwear or jeans can also affect the ability of men to produce viable sperm for conception. Exposure of their scrotum and gonads to heat can also affect their ability to produce children.
These signs do not necessarily mean that you are infertile if you have them. It is always best to consult a specialist if you have difficulty conceiving for more than a year.

I've started a hub on curing infertility. It will be controversial, what cure is not. I welcome all opinions as long as they are not rude.

Hello.
Please read how IVF medications led to my breast cancer and how a breast cancer study using genetic testing to check estrogen metabolism is saving my life.
Please share my story with all women who have used or are considering IVF, HRT and anyone with estrogen positive breast cancer.

My name is Michal Munk and I am pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. As part of my dissertation I am researching the relationship between infertility, depression and body image in women, specifically as related to the differences between women with primary (unable to conceive and maintain a first pregnancy) and secondary (unable to conceive and maintain a pregnancy subsequent to having at least one child) infertility. I hope that findings from this study will eventually help develop better psychotherapy treatments for women with infertility.
Females between the ages of 18-50, who are currently infertile (have had unprotected sex for at least 12 months with no successful pregnancy), and have no adopted/step child(ren) are eligible to participate in this study. The study entails completing questionnaires either online (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YCBQ35D), or by hard-copy upon request (call: 347-766-3798), and may be completed in 20-30 minutes. Participation is voluntary and confidentiality will be maintained. For each person who completes the survey, 2$ will be donated to RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. This study has been approved by the FDU IRB (2/17/12).
Feel free to contact me with any further questions about this study. I may be reached at 347-766-3798 or michalm@student.fdu.edu.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
